Clearing Over Travel Condition of the Rockland Pressure Generator
After the Rockland Pressure Generator has hit the lower limit during depressurization
the entire control panel in the rack will shut off. Set the following switches
on the front panel:
- Mode Select = Auto
- Auto Pressure = Increase Hold
- Manual Pressure = Off
No lights will be on or will be able to be set on at this time.
- On the computer from the main menu in the EPICS “SAM85 X17B Large
Volume Press” panel choose “Pressure, LVDTs.”
- In the newly spawned panel “SAM-85 Press Load Control” set
Feedback to OFF in the upper portion of the panel. Set “Speed Control
%” in the middle of the panel to some positive value such as 75. It
was previously set to some negative value. This can be keyed in or set by
the Tweak arrow.
- At this time return to the rack panel, turn the Overtravel Bypass key clockwise
and hold it in the turned position. Pull the POWER button out and continue
to hold the key turned until the red “Overtravel fault” light
goes out. Control of the system is now returned to the computer and EPICS.
All the front panel controls on the rack mounted control box are again disabled,
except as always the Power button can be pushed in as an emergency stop. The
motor can now be stopped in the “Speed Control %” area of the
EPICS panel by hitting the red “Stop Motor” button or “Speed
control %” can now be set to zero.
